When we arrived at this site, our firepit was a good three inches below the vent holes near the ground. When we left it, it was just about full. The vent holes were covered over with ashes! We burnt SO much wood this week you could tell by the large dent we put in the wood pile, not to mention the firepit full of ashes. But with the cold, wet weather we were having there really was not much choice.
