Months into Minutes
It's no secret that the upkeep of this web site has suffered tremendously with the arrival of a family. I still take thousands of pictures a month, I still enjoy writing, however the time that it takes to keep this page up to date on all the happenings in my little neck of the woods is a luxury I do not have. What I am going to try to do instead here is to post pictures from the last couple of months, grouped somewhat logically together, with explanations and stories as time allows to give you a glimpse into my world these days.

It should probably be noted that this journal entry covers a span of time in which we were still going to the lake. Here the girls try their hands and feet at long boarding. And, to drive home that span of time, we also bring you some pictures of bundled children atop a snow-covered hill:

Pictures I've Found On My Camera That I Did Not Take

Every once in a while I find that small fingers have found my camera and they are remarkably good at getting some cute and sometimes funny pictures.

Corn Maze
A day of outdoor, family, farm fun.

Twins
You won't believe how big they've gotten!

The twins started preschool this year. Time sure flies. Here they are on their first day.

On his first day of preschool, my son was asked to put his boots in the cubby. This was how he put them away.

Sometimes, the only reprieve a parent gets is the quiet, enforced solitude of the bathroom. Candlelit bathrooms always remind me of Grenada.

One of Kristi's Christmas Crafts this year involved tin cans, spray paint and holes drilled in decorative patterns. The result turned out quite nicely.

Favorite Kitchen Appliance
There really is no comparison.

I love my InSinkerator. We spent the extra and got an Excel, and it's worth every penny! It demolishes sink-load after sink-load of food waste that would otherwise go in the garbage. As a result, our weekly garbage load is typically one or two white kitchen garbage bags! And practically none of it stinks! Not to mention it's so easy to just peel potatoes, carrots, onions or what have you right into the kitchen sink and literally wash them down the drain... Even chicken and turkey bones evaporate without a fuss from this very powerful machine. Hands down, it is my favorite kitchen appliance.

Underground Sprinklers
When big kids play in the dirt.

This summer I helped Ed install underground sprinkler systems in both his and his mom's yards. They had removed all the old grass and soil so we did not have to do any trenching. I have to say, if you have the option — that is the way to do it! What a difference! We got both yards done in a day.

I found this pair of sun glasses in a comm room, and so with Wei's help we took a picture whereby it kind of looked like I had metal pipes coming out of my head. There's not really a great place to throw such a picture, so it's going in here.

Crafts & Creations
Creative projects Kristi and I have worked on in the past couple of months.

In our bedroom we replaced our mismatched end tables with wall-mounted shelf tables. Knowing how the kids love to climb, I designed the new end tables to be strong enough that I could sit on them.

Some of the most inspiring crafts produce things you eat. While this wasn't necessarily a craft of sorts, I was a little surprised to see my wife using a blow torch in the kitchen.

I married Sarah Conner.

Kristi's Christmas Craft this year was these little sock snowmen. Each member of our family made one, as well as my folks who were over that particular afternoon.

Some friends and I have been getting together doing what we all love to do - making electronic things. Even though we've all been doing this for years, we (finally) formed a company and are now trying to take a thing we love to do and make a bit of money at it. So far, so good. Owning your own business is a very interesting venture!

I had the opportunity to go to Speeders a few weeks ago, to race electric race cars. It was a blast; amazing how fast and stable those cars are!

(I didn't win though...)
