Canada Day 2014

This year for Canada Day our little flock spent the afternoon at the day use area at Pine Lake. Besides the addition of a dock, it really hasn't changed much.

If you click on the image above, you will get a larger version - this is what Sandy Cove looks like now. Lots of changes...

My son plays aboard the Seadoo, resting in familiar waters. Fourteen years ago, minus one week (June 24, 2000) Pat and I first dropped the Seadoo off at this very spot, and yesterday we returned to it. It is amazing to me to think of all the places it has travelled from that day till now, all the people it has carried and all the memories it has helped make.

This fellow sitting on the Seadoo (above) had no idea how that day would forever change the course of his life. For the other pictures from that day, click here.

The rest of the afternoon was spent at my Aunty Becky's house, where Maria had planned and put on a wonderful Canada day family celebration. In fact, the only people who did not have a good time were the neighbours, into whose yard the smoke from our fire continually wafted.

Even Christy attended in spirit and by proxy, being passed around on Maria's phone to say hi and be said hi to.

Houseboat 2014
Is In The Bag
Wakeboarding on the Shuswap

It's been a few years but some friends and some strangers and I went houseboating this past weekend at the Shuswap lakes of BC. And it was awesome!

I believe this was the first time that I spent more time behind the Seadoo than I did on it. Kim and I racked up the hours wakeboarding on some of the most unbelievable water either of us have ever seen.

And then there were the stunts... Jumping, diving, and sliding off the houseboat with the GoPro in hand yielded some pretty cool perspectives on our weekend.

I had to take a bellyflop for the team... Guys will do anything if there's a camera involved...

More pictures to come, these are just the stills off the videos we shot with Mark's GoPro.
