Taking The Plunge
Walking down the isle of matrimony
It's time. My life has come to this. Every event, every person, every idea, every experience has all had a roll to play in bringing me to this place; to making me the man I am today. And now, all that I am, all that I have, and all that I ever will be - is about to be shared with another.

I did not plan on this happening. Not once in my life did I (or could I have) sat down with a pen and a piece of paper and written out the details of the events that would unfold. I have encountered some in life who are very good at this. They set goals, make career paths and create strict deadlines for themselves. And they usually end up pretty close to where they expected. Life's uncertainties and surprises do not generally phase these people, for they have their plan and nothing, not even life itself, can sway them from it.

Some time ago, however, it occurred to me in a moment of epiphany, that for as much as we would like to map out every event of our lives, set every goal the heart can concieve and persue these things relentlessly, rarely does this in fact end up happening. More often the case, as my experiences have taught me, is that plans change. Some things in life you simply cannot plan for, and I would submit that these are the things that can either make or break a life. Sure there are unexpected tragedies and hardships that no one would ever want to plan for that can affect us and shake up our whole reality. But sometimes, when we least expect it, an event can forever change our lives for the better, and grow into something so much more unimaginably wonderful that we could have never begun to have planned it, nor would we want to have if given the choice.
