Journal Entries for March 2002
March 28, 2002

The weather seems confused. Here we are a few days short of April, and its SNOWING!?! But then again, this *IS* Calgary and anything can happen with our weather. This weekend plans are suddenly up in limbo now that the roads north of the city are virtually undrivable from heavy snow... I was origionally planning on going to Three Hills this weekend, for the thanksgiving festivities, with a stop in both Huxley and at Pine Lake... But it seems like that might not happen now that this snow has come upon us... And being that it is a long weekend, the last long weekend before the MAY LONG WEEKEND, I hate to spend it at home. Last night I went out and started my bike; quite a thrill I might add. I was going to go and wash the Seadoo sometime this week but I saw a forcasted temperature of -16 sometime this weekend so that makes washing anything quite unfeasable... Never fails either. But that's ok, because summer is comming and no amount of cold weather can stop it! I also stopped in to my marine toy merchant today and picked up all the 2002 catalogues for the various toys, accessories, and all that fun stuff. One item in particular caught my eye, though it's cost matches what I paid for BOTH my tubes last year... Its a sort of inflatable barrel, with several transparant windows placed throughout it's hull, and I guess it can spin itself right around while being pulled. It looked quite fun actually, although its price tag boasts a whopping forty thousand pennies... But MAN does it look fun! We'll have to see. Maybe start a fund this summer. If I can find a link to it on the internet I'll post it here in the journal, and maybe a picture as well. I can just imagine how many times I'de hear requests to go for a ride this summer if I had that in my arsenol of tubery. We'll see if I can scrounge up some money maybe and then I'll let you know. Very tempting though. 48 days till the lake opens as of the day of this writing, meaning 50 days till the May Long Weekend! I can't wait.

March 5, 2002

Its been over a month since my grandpa passed away; It seems like a long time ago now, by my own recollection alone I'de place it at almost a year! Those events seem so distant now and it seems like so much has happened in the mean time. Time is such a strange thing. Maybe not so much time itself or the passing thereof, but our perception of time and the way in which we recall events and sequences. For examle, it seems to me like a long time ago that my grandpa died. Yet I met up with a friend of mine the other day, and we got talking about things that happened over 5 years ago and I could remember them as clear as if they'de just happened. Those things didn't seem like they were that long ago, but as we started putting dates to the memories, we started to realize just how much time has passed since they took place. Funny how that works. I continue to keep busy, weekday and weekend. But I am going to add at least one more section to the photo album now, though I'm not really sure what to title it. Similar to the "Life at Lee's" section, this one could be (and may well end up being called) Life at Bo's, or perhaps a more catchy title would be "Home at the Hill's". Actually I like that one. There, I found my title. I've only got a few pictures ready to add to it now, but I'm sure there are more elsewhere that I could toss in, and hopefully more will come in the future. There is also another section I will be adding, possibly tonight too. I have lots of pictures for this one, and no doubt there will be more to come in it. I'm surprised this one hasn't been created a long time ago, but then again this site hasn't really been updated in quite some time. Once I get my new server up and running I might have a lot of new stuff on it when it's ready to be fired up. The server is built right now, actually its sitting behind me, but I've still got a lot of configuration and setup to do on it, because it will take over my current server's tasks which are many. If only I can find time to do it! I'm also currently in the process of adding about 40 more CD's to the CMUS section, because requests to update that site keep comming in. And with only 71 more days until Pine Lake opens, I don't know if I'll be able to spend as much time up there as I did last year. I still haven't heard anything about what's happening for this summer in terms of who's running it, or even who owns it... Last I heard it was up for sale but so far I don't know if its sold or not... I just don't know! Of course, with all the snow, cold weather, and below-average daily highs we're currently experiencing, the thought of riding a Seadoo around the lake, basking in the sun, sitting around a crackling bon fire and drinking 600ml Pepsi Twists seems like its a LONG way off...
