The Bike is Back, Baby!
Picture from our trip to Montana, summer 2001

Today was the second day I was out and about on my bike, and MAN was it ever good to be back on two wheels. I'de almost forgotten how much fun it was to have that much power underneat you. Of course, the roads are still VERY gravelly, and there is probably even still some ice in some places, although I have not come across any yet... But I heard it said that we reached 18 degrees today and tomorrow's high is 17 so we might even get warmer than we did today. I am excited none the less, as this has been a long time comming. Hard to believe that there are only days until Pine Lake opens, so add two days and you've got the Friday of the May Long Weekend. I heard today though, that there is about two feet of snow still on the ground at the Lake, and the ice hasn't even begun to melt yet... So hopefully it can hurry up and turn into its beautiful liquid form so we can get out there on it and start enjoying another summer!

On a more personal note, today was Shauntelle's and My 14 month anniversary! Who'd'uv thunkit?

I am currently working on a friend's computer, but it is taking some time so I thought I would add another two cent's worth to my journal. I guess what I would like to talk about now is the plans I have for expanding this site in the near future. First of all, I would like to open a video section, or archive, with all sorts of video clips from everywhere. I'de like to have the Pine Lake Tornado video we took up there, and I'm hoping too for example, to have video clips from this upcomming summer as well as pictures and stories to add. One of the other sections I plan on implimenting soon is a tribute to my Grandpa, where I'de like to have a collection of every picture, and possibly even every video taken of him. I was surprised as I looked through my pile of pictures how many I had of him, and now that I have that scanner from the auction, I really have no excuse anymore on why I haven't been putting more pictures up. Its funny how still, even the smallest and most unrelated events sometimes trigger those memories of that last weekend we spent with him. I hope I never forget that time.

As for the other proposed sections, another one I hope to implement is one that will probably be called something like, "Articles of Interest." There I plan to post all sorts of material I've found interesting or amusing, sorted by topic or subject I suppose, available to read by anyone with the time. I guess this partly springs from recent conversations I've been having with people where I'll make reference to something I've read but can't find the document itself for whatever reason. This way, I would have a wealth of information always available to myself and anyone at any time. This section could also include some of the many little sermons I catch myself rehearsing. Maybe a sub-section aptly titled, "Things God has Taught Me.", or maybe something more catchy but you get the idea. Anyways, those are the plans as of now. Watch for them to be implemented soon.

ENOUGH WITH THE SNOW ALREADY!!!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I've had it up to *HERE* with all this snow!!! Its crazy! I thought this was supposed to be spring! Something about "April showers bring May flowers" might soon be replaced with "April Snow will NEVER GO!!!"... And I'm usually the optimist too!

But we all know that it HAS to warm up sooner or later, and that means that it will be time to start thinking about camping again. Ahhh that wonderful time of year when you can leave the house without a jacket, gloves are worn only when working, hair is not covered by a toque, boots are worn only in puddles, and best of all, lakes are covered with boats, not ice. (Or Seadoo's in my case...) I've been shopping around already, looking at summer toys for this year. We might have a few more things to play with at the lake too. I've ALMOST gone for a bike ride on several days in the past few weeks, but every time I'm ready to do it, the weather turns cold or it snows, and usually both. But the time is comming soon. Street cleaners will be out, gravel will be gone. It will be good.

And with a new season comes change, and so it will be with this web site. I will soon be adding a video section on here, as I hope to have some video clips from this upcomming summer. (Of course, that will all depend on whether or not I can use my friend's video camera this summer) But I had a lot of fun capturing the memories last year in pictures, and hopefully now that I have all these video capturing and editing capabilities, I can capture some more of the summer in full motion video! I don't know about you, but for me, comming back to this site and looking at all the pictures of us in the warm, pleasant days of summer sure helps get you out of bed those extra 10 minutes in the morning so you can go scrape the snow and ice off your windshield... Oh look, I think the sun is comming out!
