Journal Entries for March 2000

March 28, 2000

I've been to some interesting places because of my job, inside bank safes and all through every 7-11 from here to Lethbridge and Rocky Mountain House, but today I got to go somewhere that I could really appreciate. I went to the Pepsi plant here in Calgary. And here if I didn't also know one of the guys who works there! It was an interesting day, and Jason and I just got back from the gym and I feel great. Today I got a good workout and I still feel great. Usually I am beat after a workout. But today, life is good. But I need a shower, so here endith the journal.

Well, the warm weather is here and with it of course, comes the riding season. Already in the last two days I've put over 300 kilometers on my bike, riding it practically from one end of Calgary to the other several times. Becky and I went to Blackfoot Motorsports to look at the goodies there. After that, we stopped a a certain 7-11 to get gas and she got to meet Chandra, the wonderful but confusing girl that she is... We stopped at A&W on the way back and had supper. I'm really looking forward to Pine Lake this year. I've already been out there once "on business" but the lake of course was frozen and everything closed. None the less, in a few short months it will again be flourishing with activity and life as flocks of eager campers swarm to the relaxing warmth of Pine Lake. As it will be the last year the whole family is together for quite some time, I am really looking forward to going up this year. Hopefully I can get time off and at least spend a few days there overnight. The weekend definately though. Should be fun. family heads, once again, to Pine Lake.

I cannot move. Jason and I went to the gym tonight and worked out really hard, until parts of my body simply would not move anymore. And now my arms especially are shaking. Its quite an interesting feeling. For a while there, whenever I tried to lift my arms, it felt like electricity was bursting from my forearms, almost like I was being shocked. Like I said, very strange feeling.
I have to sign up to take my A+ certification test tomorrow and hopefully I can get in to write the exam before they change the test material. With the weather getting nice and most of the snow gone, I've already been out on my bike, which is running very well for the start of the season. It needs some body work, and I'm debating a tune-up, but it certainly has the power. Bike parts are so expensive though, which is why I am trying to avoid the high cost of new parts for it, especially for the body. I like a good looking bike, but not at the expense of my life savings. A friend at work (Pat) is also quite a bike enthusiast, and we plan on doing a lot of riding this summer. Hopefully Jason can get his bike back in one piece, as although the frame and body look great, you can stick your arm straight through where the engine is supposed to be. Most of the people I work with either currently own, once owned, or are in the process of purchasing a motorcycle of some kind. Tomorrow I'm going to HHAC with most of the other members of the first mission team that went to Grenada and we're having a baby shower for Shamus and Sherry and making them a video. All the goods of course, will be mailed to them in Grenada. It will be good to see everyone again. I can't wait for this summer. It should be good.

I have decided to keep an online journal for the entertainment and/or amusement of those who pass by this page. I intend to update this page semi-regularly as events of significance occur, unlikely as that is. Last night I bought a few more DVDs, Monty Python and the search for the Holy Grail, two Flying Circus colletions, and Beavis and Butthead - Final Judgement. I was laughing for over an hour last night. Jason is in Red Deer for Jay's birthday, and I'm going to Red Deer on Monday for work. It will probably end up being a three day job, so that will be fun. I know we have a whole bunch of ballasts to change, and there are quite a few inspections and other jobs that have been adding up for a while now. Sylvania pays for our hotel and food for the whole time we are out there. So far this weekend has been pretty quiet, so of course I had to do some work on the web page. Whenever I'm bored I usually tweak something on it. This time I added a links page so that I won't forget where all my friends' pages are located. This page is new too, of course, and I may add a few more pictures to some of the other areas of this site. Last night Jaimee dropped my bike over while trying to move my bike while her and Jeremy were installing a new CD player in his car. The windshield cracked and my mirror broke off, so now it is technically illegal to ride the bike, not that I could anyways given the current weather and road conditions. I can't wait till summer. Some pretty loose plans have been made -- basically just a list of things I would like to do this summer. It should be good. Well, there is my start to this journal. I will update this as time goes on, my online journal.
